Who We Are

Who We Are

At our church, we are a community united by faith, dedicated to spreading love, understanding, and healing. We believe in the transformative power of compassion and the enduring strength of our shared human spirit. Our doors are open to all who seek guidance, support, and a sense of belonging in their spiritual journey.

Our Story

Our Story

In 2011, in the backyard of Mark and Tammi Rachels, Journey Church launched. Seeking a place, God sent us to Pickett Elementary School where we came to understand the church that God created us to be. This church was one that was focused on a community of real people with real problems, seeking to impact their lives with the love of Christ.

Pickett became our first home where God showed us that the church can make an impact on the local community and schools. In 2014, God made it clear that we needed a building of our own to be able to minister to the community on a greater scale. God opened the doors to an old manufacturing facility just down the road from Pickett Elementary, which allowed us to continue to impact the school and the community where we started. It has been amazing to watch God take real people and use them for real ministry. We are so excited to see where God takes Journey Church next and so thankful that you want to be a part of our church!

Our vision is for as many to hear and experience the love of Christ while raising up followers to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We believe we must make it easy for people to come to church.

Our Vision

How do we do this?

Make it easy for new believers to discover Christ. (Act 15:19)

Have a safe, non-judgmental environment to discover Christ.

Provide engaging and loving children's programs.

Provide safe and secure children's classrooms.

Display the love of Jesus from the street to the seats.

Provide a clean facility.

Offer opportunities to serve the kingdom and grow through service. (Romans 10:15)

Offer opportunities to fellowship often. (Acts 2:46)

Provide worship music that glorifies God.

Offer opportunities for spiritual growth through Bible studies.

Robust, transparent stewardship of finances.
